ABSTRACT

Abstract The ulnar artery is the larger terminal branch of the brachial artery. It originates in the cubital fossa and is covered by the flexor muscles of the forearm. We report an anatomic variant in which the ulnar artery was in a superficial position in the forearm. Since this variant was unknown, an attempted venous puncture injured the artery, causing formation of a pseudoaneurysm.

ABSTRACT

Abstract We present the clinical case of a 39 year old male that presented with a violent death in the city of Medellin. During the necropsy, a horseshoe Kidney was found, which was never diagnosed according to the patients' medical history. It is a case relevant in the medical field given the unusual vasculature that was found, because it's not a usual arrangement. The lack of symptoms and its spontaneous finding during the necropsy, shows us that it's not a rare find in our environment and that it has a big impact in the surgical fields, and in occasions, with urinary tract infections. Methodology: Descriptive. Informed consent was given by the deceased relatives for the use and analysis of the medical history.

ABSTRACT

Abstract The anatomy of the venous system of the lower limbs is among the most complex in the human body. In view of this, it is extremely important to know how to identify variations that can affect it, such as congenital malformations, for example. In cases of a rare vascular malformation such as agenesis of deep veins, clinical status may manifest with chronic venous insufficiency, which can progress with edema, hyperpigmentation, and lower limb ulcers. This is very often therefore an incapacitating disease that is difficult to treat. This article describes a case of agenesis of a segment of femoropopliteal vein in the right lower limb of a 36-year-old patient who had edema and large caliber varicose veins in the affected limb.

ABSTRACT

Hepatic Papillary process is an anatomic variant of liver. When large can simulate mass lesion in pancreatic head region or periportal lymphnode on imaging however liver tissue characteristics and continuity of the process with the caudate lobe facilitate the differentiation between extrahepatic portocaval mass and papillary process. CT is the modility of choice for the right diagnosis of liver anatomical variants.

ABSTRACT

The left anterior descending coronary artery has one of the most constant anatomy course of all coronary arteries. Rarely however, interventional cardiologists might be facing with a dual left anterior descending artery during routine angiography. A case of a patient presenting with left bundle branch block and a coronary angiography showing a rare anatomic variant of a type 1, dual left anterior descending coronary artery is reported. The available literature was also reviewed.
